Flash cards aid in memorization.
Hands on activities aid in retention.

Activity:

Each student will:

1. Use Corner Edgers to edge index cards.
2. Glue pre-cut numbers to front and back of index cards to make flash cards.
3. Use marker to add the signs for addition, subtraction, multiplication or division.

Ideas:

Try to arrange for Math Mentors - older children who are willing to spend time with younger children. Both will benefit from working with the flash cards.
Make certain that children have flash cards to take home during the summer.
