Exceptional Gardens Earn a Creativity Boost
Fiskars Project Orange Thumb Announces 2008 Community Garden Grant Recipients
In its highest form the craft of gardening can compete with any painting, ode, dance, or classical composition as a form of expression. In the right hands, gardening is a fine art, and this spring Fiskars is proud to announce its support of 13 virtuoso community gardens chosen for Project Orange Thumb grants.
Each selected garden will receive $1,500 worth of the latest Fiskars garden tools, $800 for green goods.
Grant recipients were chosen from over 500 applicants through a unique selection process. Individuals were asked to express their passion for gardening through music, art, and photography, along with their thoughts on the positive impacts of community gardening and their plans to manage and improve current and proposed garden sites. From dozens of beautiful, lively, and thoughtful entries, Fiskars has chosen the following gardens from across the U.S. to receive its 2008 Project Orange Thumb grant.
