Thanks!
We're happy to have you on board!
Flowers can cheer up any project or party, and they are fun to make!
Today I want to share one of my very favorite ways to make dimensional paper flowers using triangles. It takes a few simple folds to turn a punched triangle into a 3D petal.
Punch 12 to 15 triangles from cardstock using the 'Banner Year' lever punch. Fold each in half as shown.
Unfold each triangle and fold the two corners of the wide end to the center folded line. Overlap these two folded corners and adhere together (I use a mini glue dot).
Punch a small circle and adhere the assembled petals radiating from center. You can place them with or without gaps between each petal for a different look. Be sure to press the tips of the petals firmly onto the circle.
For a dimensional center, run the 'Banners Away' border punch along cardstock and trim a thin strip approximately 1/8 inch from the border as shown in the angled strip above. Glue three 12 inch strips together.
Fold down the first seven triangles of the long strip. Roll the strip coiled beginning with the folded triangle end. Continue to roll the full strip, securing with adhesive (I use a low-temp hot glue gun) every little bit.
Bend the triangles of the finished roll outward as shown. Adhere to center of dimensional flower (I use a low-temp hot glue gun).
These fun flowers are perfect for parties, backdrops, wall art, and gift toppers. You can change up the flower size by trimming the wide end of the triangles shorter before folding. Experiment with multi-colored, patterned, or solid petals.
