Winter
The resting period for plants. Growth slows and plants prepare for the next growing season.
- Minimize watering, stop fertilizing and avoid drafty locations for plant placement.
- Misting is beneficial as air is usually dry during winter months.
- Wipe dust from leaves to encourage photosynthesis.
- Bring outdoor potted plants inside for overwintering.
- Overwintering temperature should be low enough to stop plant growth, roughly +5–10 C.

Summer
Plants need fertilizer with nitrogen and extra watering in warmer months.
- During intense heat, water in the morning or evening, giving plants time to soak up water before it evaporates.
- Create shade for the plants to minimize heat intensity.
- Avoid watering at night to prevent exposing plants to disease.
