Upcycling: Mixed Media Art Journal Ideas

The sun is shining and this month the quote "always bring your own sunshine" came to mind. Here is how this page came together.

Using the Extra Large Hexagon Squeeze punch, punch and adhere hexagons from some old dictionary papers. This will form a nice background for your page.

Next, apply a thin layer of paint all over the page. Using the Large Hexagon Squeeze punch, punch smaller hexagons from various patterned papers and adhere in the middle of a few of the larger hexagons already glued in place. Using the Hexagon Sentiments Clear stamp set, stamp tiny hexagons repeatedly and heat emboss.

Using the Amplify™ Mixed media 6 and 8 inch scissors, cut a sun out of patterned paper. Using the Large Fly Away Squeeze Punch, punch butterflies from cardstock and adhere onto the sun. Let some of the punched butterflies hang over the sun's rays and trim off the excess.

Adhere the sun onto the page. Add a quote and sequins to finish the page off.
