Mowing the lawn
Mowing the lawn on the weekends may seem like a chore, but it is one of the most important ways to keep your lawn healthy and green. The first step is to select the right mower, and theStaySharp™ Max Reel Mower is the right tool for the job. Make sure you mow with sharp blades so you get a clean cut on the lawn and you don't tear the grass. The blades on this reel mower are made from hardened steel, which eliminates the need for annual blade sharpening while still giving you a sharp cut all year long.

When mowing, you want to mow at the right height. This is something that will change throughout the growing season. With theStaySharp™ Max Reel Mower, changingheights is easy thanks to theone-touch height adjustment that allows you to change heights from 1-4" in one easy step. You don't have to worry about gas or oil, and theFiskarsreel mower is 60% easier to push than other reel mowers.

Trimming the Edges

After mowing, you will need to trim the areas you couldn't get with the mower. This is when the Long-handle Swivel Grass Shears come in handy. The long shaft allows you to trim all areas that need it without bending over and hurting your back. The smooth cuts and steel blade will finish off the rest of the lawn in no time. Plus, the shears are adjustable so you can cut horizontally or vertically depending on the area you are trying to reach.

Pruning Overgrown Shrubs
Now that the lawn is done, it is time to clean up overgrown shrubs and broken branches. You want to make sure that shrubs and trees are cut away from the house. This will keep moisture away from the house and stop the branches from scraping your siding or windows.

Using the PowerGear2™ Loppers, I cut back anything large that has grown too close to the house. These are one of my favorite tools. I havea pairin my truck because you never know when a customer will ask you to prune something back for them. The PowerGear2™ Loppers have 3 times the cutting power on every cut, and the steel blade stays sharp even through heavy use. If you run into larger branches, use the POWER TOOTH® Softgrip® Folding Saw. This is ideal for cutting thick branches with its razor sharp teeth. Once you are finished, it folds up easily for storage and safe transportation to the next job.

For larger shrubs or bushes, I use the PowerGear2™ Hedge Shears. These shears have a 10" blade that cuts all the way to the tip. It is perfect for shaping and trimming shrubs to create some curb appeal.

Now that you have the lawn mowed and shrubs handled, you can step back and see what a difference the details make in the yard. Take the rest of the day off, you deserve it!
