Welcome students back to school with personalized gift bags. Create little kits, that will help get students excited for the school year ahead, in just a few quick steps. This project is also great for parents looking to help make going back to school special for their children.

Materials needed:

  • Small craft bags
  • Classroom supplies like pencils, scissors and crayons
  • Pen or marker

Step 1

Create giftbags for the back-to-school kits

Measure each plain brown paper bag to 3.5" high, and then trim using a Fiskars® edging scissors.

Step 2

Decorate the giftbags

Draw a simple ruler guide on a piece of paper and then transfer the design onto the left side of each paper bag.

Step 3

Personalize each giftbag

Add a special “Welcome Back!” message to the front of each bag.

Step 4

Decorate kit items

Using brightly colored paper and a Fiskars® paper crafting squeeze punch, create various shapes. Fix the fun shapes with glue to pencils, scissors and crayons. For a stylish look, try matching or contrasting the paper colors to the colors of the items.

Assemble and share the gift bags!
